About us

Staffblaster

All of the awesomeness you enjoy here is maintained by some quite handsome gentlemen. We play enough games so everyone else in the world doesn’t have to. We felt we had an obligation to relay news and information about the industry we love (and sometimes hate…), to you in the comfort of your home.. In addition to information, we will be hosting a wide variety of shows and videos for you all to enjoy. I’m sure you’re tired of reading about what we do, so now, the money shot……so to speak….. Here’s who we is.

I’ve been partaking in the video games for quite some time. I started out on my dad’s Coleco Vision (Read: BAD ASS) and have been pretty much hooked since. Shortly thereafter, I moved up to the creamy goodness of the NES, and the rest is history… I’m a fan of most 2D fighting games, even though I am gutter trash at them, and have mostly been playing Street Fighter lately. I am the co owner of a Tallahassee Arcade and Pinball shop called Arcade Age. As far as favorites of mine are concerned, I’d say that the only current generation game that would fall under this category would be Catherine. If we’re talking all time favorites, I’d go with Super Mario 64,Final Fantasy VII, Smash Bros. Melee, Counter Strike 1.6, TF2 (Shut up, it’s a FUN game to play…) and Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo. Also Vampire Savior. <3 Arcade Gaming.

A child of the 80′s, I grew up playing my parent’s Atari.. and have been gaming since.  I currently am working at Target doing a little bit of everything.

I’m a huge fan of strategy/RPG games, so those genres tend to be my favorite by far.. but I like them all, as long as the game is entertaining.  Some of my favorites include Dragon Warrior 4, Earthbound, Romance of the Three Kingdoms 10, Uncharted Waters: New Horizons, and Metal Gear Solid.

When I was young I didn’t play video games, I watched cartoons and played with toys.
When I got older I had three video games on Sega, watched cartoons, and played with toys.
When I was in high school, all I did was play video games like everyone else, but I watched cartoons and was “too old” for toys.
Now I watch cartoons, collect toys like mad, and only play video games if they are about cartoons. . . .
Why am I here? WHY AM I HERE!?!?

I’ve been playing games since I was 3 years old and ever since, it has been my primary hobby. I’ve played numerous games and systems but primarily grew up on Nintendo consoles. Mainly, I’m just a guy who likes to play games and having played them for so long, I have a lot to say about them. My favorite games include The Legend of Zelda: Link to the past, Final Fantasy 6, Tales of the Abyss, and Super Mario RPG.

RyanV (or whatever we’ll call me) was a normal, athletic, well-adjusted young man, up until he received his NES at age 8. While he enjoyed his Atari 2600 and Apple IIe, the NES brought a depth of gameplay experience that quickly changed his favorite hobby from “running around in the woods behind his house and hitting things with sticks” to “running around in the woods of Hyrule hitting things with a wooden sword.”

Outside of retro console gaming, Ryan most commonly enjoys the often misunderstood (and properly ridiculed) realm of “PC Gaming,” following several years of cobbling together PCs from parts gathered out of dusty bins at local flea markets into serviceable units capable of playing Quake or Serious Sam. At times he pretends to be a normal human by engaging in mundane acts like photography, cooking and music.
